He's nearly home!

It has been 10 months since he first left to Iraq, and he will be home in about 7 weeks! Time to make another "honey do" list! I had several things I needed help with when he was home for R&R, but as I think about it, there's nothing I can think of. :-)
I certainly appreciate all my husband has done for us and our country.

When he first left it was very hard! I'm just thankful that I have a church family that has kept me busy and helped our family through this time.

It may be hard for us here at home, but I continually think about how hard it is for our soldiers to be deployed. They are in constant danger, they aren't in a cozy bed, they must wear their uniforms daily, hot food only when they have time or are not out on a mission, they are away from their family and comforts of home. And much more....

I on the other hand, have a bed, my children are around me, I can wear whatever I want, and I don't have to worry about bombs or bullets! I can go to church, eat fast food, travel, talk on the phone any time I want.

While I wait for his phone call, he is waiting for mail call

I get to sleep in, he has to be up for formation

I'm after the children to clean up, do this, do that, and being driven up the wall because of their fighting, and he is wanting to just give them a hug, a kiss, and to tell them he loves them

I'm in line complaining of the slow service at a fast food joint, and he is going without hot food because he is either on a mission, or he missed chow time

Another crazy driver just cut me off, an IED just exploded underneath the humwv that he is riding in

I'm running errands, he's on a mission praying there are no bombs or bullets along his path

I get to take a long shower, he is wiping the dirt and sweat from his brow wishing he could take a relaxing bath by himself

I have my qiet place, he shares his and it may not always be quiet

I'm enjoying the company of friends, he's in a safety briefing

I'm in an air conditioned home, he's in a humwv in the hot desert and the driver has the heat on?

I am in church praising and worshipping God, he's in a foreign country, praising and worshipping God

I went home on vacation, he is working to keep our country free

I stay up all night, he can't wait to lay down

He joined the Army to support his family and country, and he does his job well! I thank God for our service men and women, and pray for their safety!
God Bless America!
