"But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee." Psalm 5:11

My Civil Air Patrol Cadet

Going places with Civil Air Patrol!
In January my husband arranged a static display of a Black Hawk and Chinook for the Cadets to explore up close and personal.
This month Austin went to Austin's Bergstrom Airport to complete his first Cadet Orientation flight. He flew in a Cessna 172. He was able to taxi the plane and once they were up in the air, the pilot got out a book to read while Austin took over the controls!! At one point the pilot informed Austin they were nearing 20,000 feet and needed to get back down to 15,000. He told Austin he could scare the others in the back by nose diving, or he could gradually decline. Austin chose to scare the other Cadets and scared himself!
During the day they got an opportunity to try out a hover board-that round disk powered by an airblower, which was made by a Cadet in another squadron.
Since I last wrote Austin has been promoted to Cadet Senoir Airman. He has passed his PT test for the next promotion, but missed the leadership test by two questions. He still has a few weeks before he can be promoted again. He is looking forward to attending the summer encampment too.
